Yeah well, as you can see, I have a lot more editing to do, LOL. Plus I also need to get more footage. It’s raining tomorrow. 🙂
We went to Yodobashi yesterday and I decided to take a look at the tripod section. Based on a YouTube review, I was going to get the Manfrotto one but ended up getting the Joby HandyPod instead because it has a nice grip. I have the Gorilla Pod as well that I bought a few years ago but I’ve noticed that it’s kind of bulky and it’s annoying when I want to use it as a standing tripod because it takes a while to straighten the legs out and whatnot. I think I’ll use it when the situation calls for it so it’s nice to keep in handy. Anyway, I also got a car mount thing as well. I’m planning to put that on my windshield to vlog while driving. And about five minutes ago, I just placed an order for a mini microphone, the Saramonic SR-XM1. I’ll be getting that in the mail sometime tomorrow morning.

It took me over an hour to put this little one minute video together, LOL! I first attempted to do it in Adobe Premiere and then I thought, wow, I don’t have time for this, so I switched to iMovie. In the past, my favorite editing software was Final Cut Pro but I don’t have a license for it so I need to buy it at some point. Anyway this video was of us earlier today.
What motivated me to restart my YouTube was my good friend Gaile. She was the last “message” from the universe. The very first one that I considered was my other good friend Anne sometime last year. She talked about starting her own channel focusing on cooking. And then it was Ken a few weeks ago who talked about how his coworker’s wife is starting to gain momentum on YouTube and that I should start one too. And then the third time was today from Gaile. My biggest issue has always been privacy and security, so I aim to make my videos kind of privacy-aware. I don’t want people knowing exactly where we live, etc. I’ve always believed that YouTube would be the best platform for me to explore my passion for film and at the same time create video diaries that I can share with my friends and family. To me—at this point—the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
So even though I’ll be taking on three classes in a few more weeks, I’ll try my best to upload once a week.
